Maasai Mara National Reserve

Overview

Located in South-West Kenya, Maasai Mara National Reserve is a popular natural wildlife sanctuary worldwide. It is located along The Great Rift Valley and adjacent to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. The reserve is well known for the world’s Seventh Wonder The Great Wildebeest Migration that takes place every year between the months of July-October. The reserve is well-endowed with wildlife and one is likely to spot the Big Five during game drives. A wide range of bird species are also part of the ecosystem and the beautiful grasslands provide a picturesque landscape against the wildlife. The Maasai people who are the main inhabitant of the community surrounding the park are very rich in culture and one can take time and visit the surrounding villages just to experience their beautiful culture.
